Whether it’s an item that you inherited, purchased for yourself, or received as a gift, you need to know the value of it and ensure it’s protected. To do that- you need an appraisal.
Appraisals are an estimation of what the jewelry or fur would cost to replace or reproduce. It is an official document that can be submitted to your insurance company to have your items properly covered. Expensive items like jewelry and furs may not be covered in your homeowners or renters insurance policy, so it’s your responsibility to secure what you own.
An appraisal can help you protect thousands of dollars, so it needs to be a priority! Luckily for you, we’re making it easy to get one at Know Your Worth: A Jewelry & Fur Appraisal Experience.

Our Appraisers
For the jewelry appraisal, you’ll work with George, a Graduate Gemologist with over 37 years of experience (we’ve personally worked with him before, so we know he’s legit 😉)!
For the fur appraisal, you’ll work with Nicholas, an appraiser with over 25 years of fur sales and fur design experience, including working with international furriers. He is also a Regional Sales Manager for Henig Furs, one of the largest furriers in the United States.

Know Your Worth: A Jewelry & Fur Appraisal Experience is brought to you by Thank Me Later, a financial literacy brand that empowers women to leave their legacy.
Through The Thank Me Later Foundation, our 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, we spearhead the Black Women Will initiative, where we transform the lives of Black families for generations & impact the racial wealth divide through legacy planning events and educational content.
A percentage of the proceeds of Know Your Worth will go towards the 4th annual Black Women Will Homecoming event, where we will help 250 Black female homeowners in Georgia prepare to transfer $87M+ worth of assets by completing their wills & healthcare directives. This is another way that we help women protect their legacy!

The cost of your first jewelry appraisal is $150, each one after is $125. Payment for the first appraisal will be collected at the end of the registration form. The remaining appraisal fees will be due at the event.
A nonrefundable deposit is required at the time of booking to secure the appointment slot. This deposit is retained by the event organizer in the event of cancellation.
For instance, if you have three pieces of jewelry that you want to get appraised, it will cost $400 in total ($150 to secure your spot & the remaining $250 will be due onsite).
The cost of your first fur appraisal is $60, each one after is $50. Payment for the first appraisal will be collected at the end of the registration form. The remaining appraisal fees will be due at the event.

For instance, if you have three fur items that you want to get appraised, it will cost $160 in total ($60 to secure your spot & the remaining $100 will be due onsite).
For jewelry, you can bring 1 – 3 pieces. For fur, you can bring 1 – 5 pieces.
No, this event is by appointment only. We have limited slot availability, so register ASAP!
Due to high demand, we have a strict schedule for this event. Each appointment is in 30 minute time slots. We highly encourage you to stay longer to get the most out of the experience (there will be light bites, giveaways and more)!
Yes, our jewelry appraiser can confirm if an official appraisal is needed. If the jewelry appraiser does not deem a piece of jewelry to be of value, you will not be charged for the appraisal.
If you already have an appraisal done, and want an updated appraisal, you must go through the same registration process.
Our jewelry appraiser will review the previous appraisal, however, the value of gold, silver, diamonds, etc. is always changing so you need an up-to-date appraisal.
Yes, however each piece of jewelry has a separate appraisal fee. Your partner’s jewelry will also be on the same appraisal document as yours.
You are only required to bring the jewelry and / or furs that you’d like appraised. However if you have any previous appraisals or receipts from the purchase, please bring that as well as that will be helpful, but it is not required.
The fur appraisal will be given in the form of a physical document the day of.
The jewelry appraisal will be emailed within 7 business days after the appraisal.
